FireStatStructureOnce construction begins, G. W. Mitchell utilizes a proven systematic approach to coordinate the team and manage cost, schedule and quality. Quality control is the primary responsibility of the Project Superintendent who takes responsibility for all work installed in the project. Work must meet or exceed the specifications and, if not specified, the work must meet or exceed industry standards. The goal of every Superintendent is to complete the project with a minimal number of items on the punch list. The Project Manager assists the Superintendent in quality control through regular site visits and internal inspections to ensure that all plans and specifications are being followed. Experience has shown us that the better planned and executed projects always finish with smaller punch list and fewer post construction items for all parties involved. The company is firmly committed to the philosophy that a well-supervised project will be a successful project. Our construction phase services include:

In addition to all of the above, GW Mitchell administers a monthly “Success Insurance (SIMS) Meeting” for each of its projects whereby the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Superintendent, Controller and Company Officer get together to review the progress of all major aspects of the project.  The agenda of these meetings include review of the status of all subcontracts and purchase orders, RFIs, proposal requests, change orders, submittals, project schedule, three week projections, quality control, labor requirements, long lead times and any other issues that are critical to the success of the project.  These meetings generally last anywhere from one to three hours and have a significant impact in ensuring quality and eliminating  issues that could cause delays in a project or cost overruns.

Dependability is at the heart of every project G.W. Mitchell completes.  G.W. Mitchell’s dedication to quality construction does not end with the completion of the project. Clients know they can call on Mitchell any time with questions or concerns that may arise after the building is in use. Mitchell remains focused on the client’s needs and ensure that their new facility fully supports their operations. Responsiveness from start to finish and beyond completion has always been the priority of the company.
