We believe in giving our children the best education possible, which is why the people of G.W. Mitchell Construction take pride in constructing the latest state-of-the-art educational facilities available. Since the completion of their first school project in 1926, G.W. Mitchell Construction has continued to serve the education industry, having built for almost every Independent School District in San Antonio, as well as several private school systems.
Mitchell has also completed a substantial amount of higher education projects in San Antonio. Some of these include: Trinity University (18 projects completed at Trinity with current value of over $73 million), University of Incarnate Word (3 projects worth over $18 Million), as well as several projects on four campuses of the Alamo Community College District. In addition, Mitchell has built for several of the largest state institutions including Texas A&M University College Station, Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) and the University of Texas System. One of the more notable higher educational facilities completed by G.W. Mitchell was the original U.T. Health Science Center complex at the South Texas Medical Center. This 450,000 square foot project was completed in 1968 and still stands today as South Texas’ premier medical teaching facility. Over the past 90 years, Mitchell’s impressive educational portfolio amounts to over $640 Million in educational projects.
